Temperance SIG
The first Mensa
Special Interest Group I ever attended was a Temperance meeting. This was
a "cocktail hour" function. Why called Temperance? Because we ate at a
place that had free hors-d-oevres, and kept meeting there until we drove
them out of business.. . . Well this "Temperance" group has had fits and
starts here and Mr. Blue did his best to close down Brownings...It is now
hard to find free hors-d'oevres. But we have found a place that has 40 cent
Buffalo Wings on Tuesday nights (and also beer, wine and cocktails). They
also have a "geek" game that most Mensans go for called "NTN Trivia"
So join us at Buffalo Wild Wings (affectionately B-W-3) on the last Tuesday
of each month to month at 6pm-ish to about 8pm-ish. The BW3 we go to is on
Bardstown Road (close to the Baxter-Bardstown Road split in the Original
Highlands (across the street from the KFC). Note: parking places are
sometimes hard to find here (especially the later you arrive). Either come
with a friend or take a bus. Or be prepared to walk from a remote parking
spot. Go to the back of the bar (tall tables). Look for people with the
small keyboards (game boxes).
Call Jane at home 502-451-0523 the day before if you want to make sure that
someone will be there. Jane's cell (which is sometimes on) is 502-432-0360.
Jane's screen name "handle" in NTN is Audrey.
